Jarhead

Growing up my Papa always called us all Jarheads.  I didn't know until I started dating Brent that was a phrase that people used when referring to Marines. The other day I gave Cole on of Brent's Marine Corps covers and took some pictures of him.  I think he's a Jarhead in training!

What is this thing?

Silly Boy!

Concentrating on getting it into his mouth

Wouldn't I make a cute Marine?

Lazy Saturdays

Lazy Saturdays are my FAVORITE!! I don't get much time with Cole during the week because I work all day and he recently  moved his bedtime up to 7:30! :o( So I usually only get a couple of hours with him each night, plus I have to share that time with his daddy! But today was a wonderful lazy day and I got to spend all day with my little man!

My sister and I started off the day at a consignment sale. I racked up on my lil' man some fall/winter clothes! I was super excited. They are all good brands too (chaps, oldnavy, carters ...) After that we came home and napped and lounged around all day! It was a perfect day! I love getting to spend some one on one time with my baby! He makes my heart smile! :O)

Vacation Baby!

y brother had a jet ski race in Nashville over the long weekend so we decided to go and watch him race and spend the weekend up in Tennessee.  We left on Friday night and drove to Chattanooga spent the night and drove the rest of the way on Saturday.  Cole did AWESOME in the car and the whole trip even though his schedule was a little off.  I was a little nervous because when we went to watch my brother race at Lake Hartwell Cole was miserable because it was so hot and we didn't have out own space, so I had to hold him almost the whole time.  When I told my brother we were going to Nashville I made him promise me that he would put up a quick shade so that I could take Cole's bouncy seat and other things to keep him happy while we were outside.  It went wonderfully ... the weather was great, not too hot at all! I'm not so great at remembering to take pictures but I did manage to get a few!

On Saturday while mom and dad took my brother's girls to the water park, Brent, Cole and I went into downtown Nashville to look around.

Sunday we spent the day  at the races and then went back the night for the awards ceremony.

It was Cole's bed time so I fed him, put his pajamas on him and let him sleep in the stroller. He never woke up when I put him in his car seat or took him out and put him in the pack and play at the hotel! He was so sleepy!

Here are a few pictures of my brother racing taken by a professional photographer (these aren't of this weekend's race but from earlier this summer.)

My little escape artist

Since Cole was born I have had him sleep in a sleep positioner at night to keep him in place. I started out with this one and then had to get one that had an incline for a while when he was tiny. Once he could get out of his swaddle, he would get himself slanted in the positioner and prop his foot up. I didn't think much about it, I just thought that it was his cute little way of sleeping.

On Monday when I went to get ready for work I found him like this in his bed ... silly boy!
It's a little blurry ... I took it with my phone.

I can not figure out how he managed to get out of that thing! I thought that I would keep putting him in it because he can't roll over yet and I am really afraid that he is going to get on his stomach and not be able to get back to his back. However, this morning I went in to check on him before I got ready for work and found him like this:

So ... I decided that I am just not going to use the sleep positioner anymore. I'm still nervous about him rolling over, but if he can get out of it then I worry that he will get it up by his face some how ... and that scares me too!

New ...

Since I am new to this whole blogging thing ... I need a little help getting a cute background. Anyone have any tips?

Why not?

So I started this blog back in November when I was 3 months pregnant. I even wrote a few posts, just never published them! I really enjoy reading other people's blogs but just didn't know whether I should have one or not! Well, I finally decided to just go ahead and do it! It probably won't be too interesting ... but oh well! I hope you enjoy!
